My shop didn’t get 1985 #6 shipped to them this week, so the only comic yours truly bought was Iron Fist. I will either review both of them with next week’s crop, or ignore them and make Goki cry. It’s your choice America!

Reviews for 10/29 Cancelled
October 29, 2008Weekly Recommendations for 10/29/08
October 29, 2008It’s Wednesday and that means comics. Regrettably, I haven’t finished last week’s load yet, but promise to post the reviews today or tomorrow. That said, let’s get ya’ll ready for this week’s batch.
All About New Krypton
October 24, 2008There’s been a lot of interesting articles on the Internets lately about the big “New Krypton” crossover in the Superman titles that kicked off this week in the Superman: New Krypton Special. Here are some of them:
- -IGN’s five-page guide talks about ”New Krypton,” what led up to it, and the current state of Superman comics. It’s long, but it’s a good read. It has spoilers for Action Comics #870, by the way.
- -Newsarama’s Field Guide to New Krypton is a bit lengthy too, but it covers angles IGN’s article doesn’t and has nice commentary from Geoff Johns (who even drops hints about his next story in Action Comics after “New Krypton”). It’s also lists every issue of the crossover on the bottom.
- -Troy Brownfield looks back at Kandor’s history over the years. Don’t worry, this one’s short!
- Also from Newsarama, Geoff Johns talks about Superman’s emotional crossroads. If you haven’t read Action Comics #870, then this article’s especially spoiler-heavy. It also slightly goes into events from the New Krypton Special.
Enjoy!

Weekly Reviews for 10/15/08
October 21, 2008It was a great week for comics, with the conclusion of the best Final Crisis tie in, the conclusion of the best thing from the Ultimate Universe since the Ultimates, a new writer’s debut on DC’s quirkiest title (besides Ambush Bug) and another installment of Moon Knight, and some Brubaker/Fraction. What’s the best of the week? I don’t know yet. Read on, because I promise I will by the end.

Reviews for the Week of October 8th, 2008
October 10, 2008Whoo-eee! We’re already two weeks through October (jesus!), and this week, 3 more titles came out and graced my presence. One was based on a high profile sci-fi book series, one is by Gail Simone, and the other features Alex Ross covers. Which is #1? Fuck if I know, I ad lib these.
