Final bits from NY Comic-Con (UPDATED)

Here we go, in a slightly loser format:

DMC of Run DMC is working on a comic book! Click the link to hear him talk more about the relationship between hip hop artists and super-heroes. This guy definitely knows his comics!

UPDATED: here’s part 2 of the interview.

DC Comics has podcasts and slideshows of its panels, for your listening/viewing pleasure.

Ed Brubaker is working on The Marvels Project, an eight-issue mini-series that promises to show us the “true origins of the Marvel Universe.” I kind of shudder when I hear things like that, considering how much retconning Marvel has done lately to make their current stories work (the Illuminati, for example), but Brubaker’s a pretty good writer who usually does his research: he even has a “research assistant” for this particular project! Plus, he’ll get to write Steve Rogers again! Who’s the artist, you ask? Why, Steve Epting, of course!

SNL writers Seth Meyer and Bill Haden are writing a Spider-Man one-shot titled “Spider-Man: The Short Halloween.” Cross-media love fest, baby.

Lockjaw and the Pet Avengers. Four issue mini starring Lockjaw (duh), Lockheed (Kitty Pryde’s pet dragon), Hairball (Speedball’s cat), Zabu (Ka-Zar’s sabretooth tiger), Redwing (the Falcon’s bird), Ms. Lion (a MALE DOG) and… wait… for it…

Frog Thor. That’s right, kids, Frog Thor is back. I smell Eisner.

We’re done. Beat it, get outta here! Or comment below.

UPDATE: oh alright, here’s some more. Geoff Johns gives us more info on Flash: Rebirth in this Newsarama video interview. Also, Greg Rucka spills a few more details about his run on Detective Comics. Can you tell I’m excited?

Seth Meyer and Bill Hader are funny funny men, so I’ll definitely check that one out (I predict Hader will be THE star in an Apatow movie by 2011, because he’s been a strong supporting cast member the past few years now, starting with Superbad).

I’m with you Goki on The Marvels Project. Something so big and with such esteemed goals is almost dooming you to failure before it even starts. It is Brubaker, which is a big plus….but I don’t know, I feel like we’ve seen these origins so many times that it’s going to be hard to care. It sounds basically like the non-Ultimate Origins.
