Look! News!

Some fun stuff around the Interwebz to hold you over until we post more new stuff (and unveil our message board!):

Bendis answers your questions on Twitter. Maybe this thing isn’t so bad after all…

-Dan Didio gives you a tour of the DC offices. And answers your questions. Dan is a generous man.

-Check out all of Marvel’s SIEGE images. I swear the shadowy figure in this one is Beak (Barnell Bohusk) with a sword.

Two-Face is showing up in this week’s Batman: Brave and the Bold. So is Doctor Fate.

Smallville’s getting its own TV movie (well, two-hour long episode), penned by the mighty Geoff Johns and guest-starring the Justice Society… as well as Amanda Waller. By the way, you’ll never guess who’s playing the live version of the Wall (hint: “Across 110th Street…”).

Marvel Studios names its new co-president. I swear, I’m never going to get used to seeing the Marvel and Disney logos together like that…

Brian K. Vaughan talks The Escapists (which just got reprinted in softcover) and leaving Lost. BKV’s the man; I’ve got to buy more Ex Machina trades. Oh, and The Escapists, d’urh.

-Hey kids! Dr. Horrible’s getting his own comic! By Zack Whedon! I love Dr. Horrible. If you haven’t watched Dr. Horrible’s Sing-A-Long Blog yet, you owe it to yourself.

Mmk, we’re done. Happy reading!

Wow, Foxy Brown herself joining Smallville. I kinda wish I’d kept up with that series over the years, since I support the idea of TV shows coming out of comics characters.

Why would Twitter cut off the Bendis interview?

Is Siege the end of Dark Reign, or is there still no end in sight? The basic premise of Siege is quite nonsensical: “Osborn, in his final bid to take total control, targets the final obstacle in his mission…Asgard.” Really? The X-Men beat him, essentially every List mission has failed, and his own team has serious control problems, yet Asgard, Asgard is his final obstacle? Doesn’t that necessarily imply that he’s succeeded in overcoming any other obstacle? Yeah, I get that’s he’s crazy and that might come into play, but this seems like a very thinly premised excuse to have yet another crossover war event that’s all action and little substance.

The only thing I’m looking forward to in all this, under than its conclusion, is the “proper showndown between Spider-Man and Norman Osborn” that Bendis mentioned in the Twitter interview. A “Daken/Thor showndown”? Awful.

Not familiar with Dr. Horrible, but now I want to be.

How on Earth haven’t you heard of Dr. Horrible? Do they get the internet in Oklahoma (pretend that made sense)? Do they get humor (getting warmer)?

It’s Neil Patrick Harris and Nathan Fillion. And Joss Whedon. You can catch it on hulu.com.

A Smallville TV movie with Geoff Johns and JSA involved actually makes me interested in the show again. It’s a shame they couldn’t have done all this stuff sooner when the concept was fresh and the show had buzz (read: an audience). But now they have a lot more freedom to introduce all these characters and superheroes because of it, I suppose. I remember it was huge news when Clark Kent woke up hovering above his bed. My, how the times have changed. Long live the CW.

We do get the Internet in Oklahoma. We also get the NBA. And it’s hard to keep up with all the web has to offer when your city still has a pro basketball franchise to follow.

I wish Smallville had just gone all out and allowed him to become Superman, start a real Justice League, and be full-on Lois and Clark, with more guest stars. Maybe that would have killed its following, I don’t know, but I would have been more interested.
