What Up, Blogger(s)!

by

A lot has changed in the past few months. Steve Rogers is no longer dead. 30 Rock is no longer the best sitcom on Thursday nights (that honor goes to NBC’s newest sitcom, Community). Goki’s Giving Groin is now Eat More Comics. And with the name change comes a delightful new messageboard to accompany our humble blog.

But some things haven’t changed: Barry Allen is still in the midst of a rebirth (to put this in perspective, I was still reading comics when the first issue came out). The Seahawks still blow. And Showtime’s brilliant show Dexter continues to make my jaw drop. And perhaps most importantly, we still have our Warriors Three (Goki, David and I), Lia and, unfortunately, little else. But there’s reason for optimism: we have a lot in store for you guys in the coming month in wrapping up 2009, with each of us giving our 5 best comic runs of the decade, and we all have some tricks up our sleeves in the coming new year. I have a feeling 2010 will be a fruitful one.

So read and appreciate us, dammit.

And give it up to Goki and David for being at the heart of the changes to the blog, they deserve all the credit. I’m a bum (some things never change).

    I feel inspired.

Community rules! And I have no doubt that Spiffy will play an important role in the coming months. After all, it’s only a matter of time before we trick him into reading comics again.

In the meantime, like the man said, get excited. It takes a special kind of blog to have the testicular fortitude to narrow down a decade of great comics to our 15 favorite runs, but dammit, our groins remain as giving as ever.

Also coming within the next month: Project: Hulk — Peter David. His run lasted 137 issues, so my Project posting will be 137 paragraphs. Get pumped.

This is a Groi– FANTASTIC surprise! We’ve finally got Spiff back, with a great opener, to boot. And I third the Community love. Well, at least, based off all the clips I’ve seen on teh Internetz (the Spanish lesson song, the Batman scenes, CRUMPING). One day, I will watch a full episode!
